Glenn W. Rehberger, P.E., BCEE,
1969 B.S. Civil Engineering; 1973 M.S. Sanitary Engineering

Glenn W. Rehberger earned his B.S. from Virginia Tech in 1969 in civil engineering. Immediately upon graduation, Mr. Rehberger went to work for the Virginia Department of Health, Bureau of Sanitary Engineering. This first employment provided broad exposure to the growing field of sanitary (environmental) engineering. Employment with the Virginia Department of Health also provided the opportunity to earn his Master’s degree at Virginia Tech through the Health Department’s scholarship program.



Mr. Rehberger joined CH2M HILL of Chantilly, Va., in 1974 and is currently the vice president and area manager operations leader. He is responsible for the operational leadership of approximately 80 area managers across the U.S. He is also the principal in charge and client service manager for the firm’s work with the Hampton Roads Sanitation District. He is a professional engineer in the District of Columbia, South Carolina, and Virginia.



Mr. Rehberger has extensive experience in managing environmental engineering projects and delivering services to CH2M HILL’s clients. He has served as project manager or principal-in-charge for projects throughout the mid-Atlantic area, including water and wastewater treatment plants and major construction projects. He has been involved in all phases of his projects including contract negotiation, conceptual design, final design, permitting, construction, startup, and contract close-out. In addition to his involvement with specific projects, Mr. Rehberger is actively involved in professional activities related to environmental engineering, and maintains a broad range of contacts in the professional

and regulatory communities.



His professional affiliations include: American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), president ACEC Virginia, chair ACEC-Virginia Government Affairs Committee (multiple years); and Water Environment Federation-Virginia Water Environment Association, president, secretary/treasurer, chair of education, program, reuse committees.



Mr. Rehberger’s honors and awards include: Arthur Sidney Bedell Award, Water Environment Federation; Meritorious Service Award, Virginia Water Environment Association; and Diplomate, American Academy of Environmental Engineers.



He served on the CEE Alumni Board from 2000 to 2008 and was chair in 2006. In the aftermath of the April 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech, he organized a donation matching program at CH2M HILL. Mr. Rehberger is also an avid supporter of recruiting and hiring students from Virginia Tech.
