William E. Junda is Chief Operating Office and Principal of Gordon, a multidisciplinary design firm headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia. After earning his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2000, he quickly moved up through the ranks at Gordon.

Since graduating, he has provided site development engineering services for hundreds of commercial, residential, government, mixed-use and sustainable development projects throughout Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC and West Virginia. He has designed some of the most regionally significant and complex projects in the metro region.

In his current role, Mr. Junda is responsible for the development, design, operations and improvements of the systems and structures that create and deliver the company’s products and services. He has developed a reputation as a recognized industry expert in the civil engineering and land development field. He has designed and managed nearly half a billion dollars in land development activity for both public and private sectors during his career, highlighted by several career-defining projects of enormous scale and of regional and economic significance.

His signature project at Gordon is the management of the land use entitlement and planning, engineering design and implementation of One Loudoun, a 360 acre mixed-use project in Loudoun County that includes 1,040 homes, 700,000 square feet of signature retail and entertainment, a minor league baseball stadium, hotels, three million square feet of office space, an elementary school, parks, amenities and athletic fields. It is known as Loudoun County’s new downtown and is widely considered one of the most successful and significant large-scale projects in Loudoun County over the last decade.

Mr. Junda plays an active role in the department’s Land Development Design Initiative (LDDI). He had an integral part in the creation and growth of the initiative, including serving as a professional mentor to the land development design class, participating in career nights, class presentations, meetings and other activities.

He stays busy through active roles in the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA). He sits on the NAIOP Loudon County Government Relations Committee that is tasked with promoting economic development within the county and improving agency processes and interaction with the business community. He was recently introduced as a Board Member for Loudoun Interfaith Relief, a non-profit food pantry that serves the local community.

Mr. Junda lives in Leesburg, VA with his Hokie wife, Jennifer. He is part of the Hokie Travelers RV Club and supports Virginia Tech football at home and away games
