My company has instituted (perhaps pioneered) several management practices that I believe are leading edge. We are totally employee-owned broadly through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and that drives or interlocks with several other of our somewhat different practices, such as our totally open book culture and our hourly pay system. The latter was instituted to avoid a two caste system and the former supports management's desire that all of our employee-owners have access to all information in the company. We are very flexible with work hours and with dress. As we say on our website, we value creativity more than conformity. I'm somewhat of an evangeslist on these practices and would enjoy discussing them with with students.
