Additional Comments :
I retired from the Federal Highway Administration - Office of Safety Research and Development as a technical director for safety. I have taught traffic engineering and highway safety for Virginia Tech since 1997. My highway safety research and teaching experience have permitted me to publish and present numerous reports as well as contribute to the field through the Transportation Research Board, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Society of Automotive Engineers. Currently I am assisting the National Cooperative Research Program in the development of a Human Factors Guideline for Road Systems. Highway safety is an interesting field that has not been given the national focus it deserves to make local, state and federal highways safer for all road users.
