Additional Comments :
based in Atlanta, GA I have great love for Virginia Tech and I am proud to be a Hokie and a civil engineer. I am also proud to be an employee of Norfolk Southern Corporation. My career as a civil engineer with a railroad has been a long and thoroughly enjoyable. I welcome the opportunity to talk and interact with students and share my experiences, and I hope to inform them of opportunities that exist in the rail industry that they may not be aware of. My career has included working as a surveyor, draftsman, project engineer, estimator, and a construction manager. I have been responsible for managing people and infrastructure using both in-house engineers and outside engineering firms to do planning and design, and contractors to do the work. These duties have required interacting with many local, state and federal government agencies and officials throughout the eastern United States. As a result, I believe I can bring insight about the civil engineering profession from a rather unique perspective.
