This course has been designed to enable students to perform analyses and make important decisions that affect public safety as part of the transportation system.
Specific Course Objectives :
Learn the basic principles associated with transportation safety as it is related to humans, vehicles and infrastructure.
Study the principles of design for safety.
Discuss the principles and practices of empirical evaluation of safety.
Study the principles and practices of accident investigation and epidemiological evaluation of safety.
Study the principles and practices of safeguards and controls.
