Course Description :

This course has been designed to enable students to perform analyses and make important decisions that affect public safety as part of the transportation system.

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Learn the basic principles associated with transportation safety as it is related to humans, vehicles and infrastructure.
  • Study the principles of design for safety.
  • Discuss the principles and practices of empirical evaluation of safety.
  • Study the principles and practices of accident investigation and epidemiological evaluation of safety.
  • Study the principles and practices of safeguards and controls.
