CEE 3314 : WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING
Course Description :

Open channel flow; hydrology; hydraulic modeling; hydraulic machinery and structures; laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to perform the objectives stated below.

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Calculate design discharges for the design of hydraulic structures.
  • Calculate flows and headloss in pipes networks.
  • Select a pump based on system and pump characteristic curves.
  • Evaluate flow characteristics through traditional hydraulic structures such as weirs, spillways, and/or sluice gates.
  • Calculate discharge, normal depth, critical depth, and water surface profiles in open channels.
  • Calculate runoff hydrographs and design structures to manage stormwater.
