Course Description :

Design of wastewater treatment facilities for the reduction and elimination of organic and inorganic pollutants.

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Describe the unit processes commonly used in the biological treatment of wastewaters.
  • Explain how various unit processes work on a microbiological basis and as a system component.
  • Design a biological treatment unit for domestic wastewater.
  • Evaluate data associated with biological unit processes to discern system function and performance.
  • Use software to predict how various factors will affect the performance of a biological system.
