CEE 4334 : HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES
Course Description :

Hydraulic analysis and design of engineering structures for water control, including reservoirs, dams, spillways, spilling basins, drainage structures, and hydraulic models.

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Design a levee to protect against 100-year flood, using HEC-RAS.
  • Design a stormwater detention pond outlet structure, including hydrographs for pre-and post-development conditions in watershed.
  • Apply HEC-HMS for dam overtopping analysis.
  • Design a storm sewer, including inlets, and estimate the HGL.
  • Apply report writing skills, work together in design teams, orally present designs.
