CEE 5430 : INTERMEDIATE DESIGN OF STEEL BUILDINGS
Course Description :

Design of major components in steel-framed buildings, including composite beams and slabs, bean-columns, and moment connections.

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Analyze and design composite members.
  • Perform serviceability checks on steel framed floor systems.
  • Analyze and design beam-columns for braced and unbraced frames.
  • Compute wind forces for multi-story frames.
  • Compute second order moments for columns, beams, and connections in multi-story unbraced frames.
  • Analyze and design moment connections.
