This course is designed to prepare students in the transportation area for a highly competitive job market, by providing state of the art knowledge in traffic signal system control and operations. The scope of this course includes signal system design and operations, traffic simulation techniques, advanced traffic control strategies, and incorporation of surface street systems into Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). A research paper is required.
