CEE 5020 : INFRASTRUCTURE POLICY
Course Description :

Infrastructure policy and briefs. Policy implications for civil infrastructure. Community empowerment challenges of
fair housing, climate change, urbanization, environmental justice. Communication in socio-technical infrastructure
systems. Community engagement with policy makers. Pre: Graduate Standing. (3H, 3C)

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Dissect the U.S. policy system with respect to implications for civil infrastructure development and
    maintenance.
  • Relate community empowerment practices to infrastructure policies.
  • Locate, analyze, and interpret policy briefs.
  • Communicate and engage with policymakers and other involved stakeholders.
  • Apply written and presentation skills to prepare a policy brief.
