CEE 4024 : CONSTRUCTION CONTROL TECHNIQUES
Course Description :

Techniques used to plan, schedule and control the construction process. Emphasizes manual and computer-based approaches. Focuses on an analytical approach towards the construction process whereby good technical methodologies and solutions are converted to reality through construction practices.

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Recognize the importance of planning to reduce risks/uncertainties and to facilitate decision-making.
  • Apply work breakdown structure methods to design a feasible construction solution and utilize critical path method to determine a project's duration and critical/non-critical activities.
  • Apply Resource-Based Scheduling techniques to resource-loaded schedules to mitigate resource over-allocations and/or to balance resource utilization.
  • Use different software packages to create and/or manipulate schedules.
