Specific Course Objectives :
Use the Greenshields traffic stream model to compute traffic stream speed, density, and flow.
Calibrate the Greenshields and Van Aerde traffic stream models to field measurements using linear regression and the SPD_CAL calibration tool.
Compute the level of service and capacity of weaving sections using the HCM procedures.
Compute the level of service and capacity of merge and diverge sections using the HCM procedures.
Construct and model merge, diverge, weaving sections, and isolated signalized intersections using the CORSIM and/or INTEGRATION software.
Evaluate the operation of existing signal timings at an isolated intersection using the HCM procedures.
Design the signal timings of an isolated intersection considering shared lanes and permissive movements.
Compute the delay and stops between two signalized intersections along an arterial roadway.
