CEE 4654 : GEOMETRIC DESIGN OF HIGHWAYS
Course Description :

Functional design of highways; curves; intersections, interchanges, drainage, and other features involved in highway safety and traffic efficiency.

Specific Course Objectives :
  • Determine the functional classification of a highway.
  • Assess appropriate design characteristics for a highway typical section.
  • Distinguish between various intersection and interchange designs.
  • Design horizontal and vertical alignments for a proposed highway.
  • Prepare a written report and make an oral/visual presentation to transmit the design project.
  • Work as a member of a team to complete the project design, report, and presentation.
